Processing full-face breathing masks
Miele washer-extractors can also be used in the professional and economical reprocessing of breathing masks using standardised parameters. These processes have been designed and tested in conjunction with both mask and detergent manufacturers. Machine reprocessing requires less time and is less labour-intensive.
Masks do not need to be disassembled prior to reprocessing; they are simply placed in protective bags to prevent damage to the glass screens. Disinfection takes place at a temperature of 60°C and with a temperature-holding time of 20 mins. Masks with an integrated helmet cannot currently be reprocessed due to the risk of scratching.
Washing with special programme packages
Freely programmable Profi M controls have 16 fixed programmes and 183 customisable slots. Programme parameters can be easily adjusted to provide a solution for all requirements. Free programme slots can be used to store the following optional programmes for fire-brigade applications:
  • Washing protective apparel
  • Washing and reproofing protective apparel
  • Reproofing protective apparel
  • Chemical-proof coveralls
  • Chemical-proof coveralls - Special
  • Masks
  • Masks with pre-wash
Drying masks in Miele tumble dryers
Trocknen von Vollmasken According to Miele's 'Forever better' motto, breathing masks can now also be dried in a tumble dryer after washing.

The Miele drying process is both thorough and gentle. Troctronic controls enable optimum adjustment of programme settings and precise temperature maintenance during the drying process.

Trocknen von Vollmasken The masks are secured on special braces. Depending on model the racks can accommodate 2, 3 or 4 masks.

When the masks have been secured on the brace, the brace is clamped into the dryer drum. The dryer can accommodate up to five braces.

15 to 20 full-size masks can be dried in approx. 40 minutes, eliminating the need for prolonged drying times of up to 3-6 hours in airing cupboards.

The alternative to washing
G 7856 Miele has devised a process for washing masks in a washer-disinfector.

Masks are processed at a max. temperature of 55-60°C using a suitable detergent and disinfectant. This ensures a highly protective environment. In the final rinse, the water is heated up to 55°C again for a short period.

In each processing cycle, 9 breathing masks are cleaned and disinfected in special inserts. Small components are cleaned in an insert covered by a net lid.

Programme duration with a hot water intake is approx. 20 minutes.

The masks should then immediately be dried separately in a drying unit.
