Very few everyday objects are used as frequently as bedding.
In terms of body contact, pillows are more intensively used than blankets. Both only fulfil their purpose if regularly washed. Duvets soiled with perspiration and even urine, blood, grease, etc., do not provide the same degree of insulation.
Top blankets serve to protect against temperature fluctuations and should be light and drape easily. This can only be achieved through regular cleaning by a professional bedding launderer.
In certain respects, duvet covers can be classed as special fabrics as they must be impervious to down and feathers whilst at the same time allowing the passage of air. This is achieved through the use of cotton, a close-knit weave and a special finish. As cotton and feathers are natural fibres, duvets can be washed in a commercial washer-extractor without a problem.
Washing
Soil is easily removed from down and feathers without having to open duvets. After processing, the bedding is hygienically clean.
Drying
The permeability needed for cleaning duvet covers is reversed, i.e. pores are closed, by drying in hot air in a tumble dryer. This reinstates fabric density. Reduced air throughput combined with longitudinal air flow guarantees gentle drying with a heater rating of 9 kW. Bedding lofts well and is soft and bouncy after reprocessing.
