Economical considerations
Taschenrechner The continuous improvement and development of electronic controls has enabled a drastic reduction in energy and water consumption levels.  In addition Miele washer-extractors operate at high spin speeds which provide excellent dewatering resulting in fast and economical drying.
Customised computations
If you are interested, Miele can offer personalised economic feasibility calculations based on individual laundry throughput and utility costs.
Calculation of laundry volume:
1 Towel 50 x 100 cm ~ 200 g
1 Bath towel 100 x 200 cm ~ 800 g
1 Duvet cover 160 x 200 cm  ~ 850 g
1 Sheet 150 x 250 cm ~ 670 g
1 Pillowslip 80 x 80 cm ~ 200 g
1 Table cloth 125 x 160 cm ~ 370 g
1 Serviette 70 x 70 cm ~ 80 g
1 Overall ~ 1200 g
1 Apron ~ 200 g
1 Dust coat ~ 500 g
Domestic v. Professional
Haushalt und Professional im Vergleich A domestic washing machine requires 117 mins. for a 5 kg Cottons (60°C) load; Miele's Little Giants need a mere 56 mins. for a 6 kg Cottons (60°C) programme.
Given a daily laundry volume of 30 kg, an entire programme can be saved using a Miele Little Giant with a 6 kg capacity rather than a domestic 5 kg machine. This saves both time and costs.
Benefits of an in-house laundry
The great advantage of an in-house laundry is that small catering establishments, guest houses, bistros or cafés can process their laundry to suit individual requirements. All the equipment required is available from the Miele Professional product range: Washer-extractors with freely programmable process parameters, vented and condenser dryers, complemented by rotary ironers for a perfect laundry finish.
Convincing benefits: Table and bed linen is ready for use again in next to no time. This approach allows you to reprocess your laundry in the most suitable way, thereby extending its service life. Persistent stains can be treated individually and immediately. And the machines can also be used to wash your own private laundry. Efficient use of personnel and careful wash-time planning means that you can run your own in-house laundry as a side-line.
Replacing old with new makes economic sense!
Saving money is always an important consideration and Miele laundry machines make a significant contribution toward this objective. If we compare a current 7.5 kg washer-extractor with say a W 706, one of the more common older Miele machines still frequently in use today, electricity savings amount to approx. 50% and water costs are reduced by approx. 40% which results in a considerable savings on running costs.  And all that without compromising washing results.
And on top of this, there's Miele´s leasing offer:
Gas-heated tumble dryers
The use of natural gas is not only beneficial to the environment but is also a cheaper source of energy, it is therefore a more cost effective choice than electrically heated models when operational costs are considered.
Miele's gas-heated T 6185 reduces operating costs by approx. 70%. The higher initial outlay for a gas version is therefore paid back within about 1 1/2 years.
Economic drying with Air Recycling
Fresh air is drawn in via the air intake port and blends with circulating air at the heater bank. This heated mixture is then directed into the drum through the perforated drum rear panel. It passes through the laundry and exits via the perforated drum panel at the front and the fluff filter.
On its way back to the heater, air passes a baffle which vents approx. 40% of the air in circulation to atmosphere and allows the remaining 60% to continue on to the heater bank. Other outstanding features of the Miele drying system include central air intake, drying on the axial-flow principle and a large, fine-meshed fluff filter.
